2024 Smile Around The World & World Oral Health Day

On March 20, the 2024 Smile Around the World and World Oral Health Day jointly initiated by FDI, CSA and 3M(Now Solventum), was successfully held in Hanzhong, Shaanxi Province of China.

Since the event was first launched in China in 2018, 3M(Now Solventum) has worked with CSA to carry out oral health activities for nearly 10,000 children and donated oral preventive products, which has received strong support and gratitude from the Chinese government and medical units at all levels.

During the event, nearly 100 experts, including Prof. Nikolai Sharkov, FDI’s President-elect, CSA President Guo Chuan Bin, CSA Vice President and Secretary General Professor Yue Lin, and national Academicians, warmly interacted with more than 1,000 local primary school students and jointly launched initiatives of protecting oral health. Oral health education activities carried out through oral health lectures, toothbrushing demonstrations and painting , and the theme of "A HAPPY MOUTH… is a happy body" is published, which has attracted the attention of more than 6 million people from online media.

Prof. Nikolai Sharkov, FDI’s  President-elect, said in his speech that China plays a pivotal role in the cause of global oral health and has made important contributions to the improvement of global oral health. FDI commends CSA and 3M(Now Solventum) for their ongoing Smile Around The World initiative in China, and we are aligned with WOHD on this and will continue to work on this important mission.
