Enlightening “Tribal smile”-Creating Awareness among Tribal population

"Attapdi" is a tribal taluk in Kerala ‚India .

Which is famous for its tribal heritage.3 major tribal communities named IRULA, MUDUGA and KURUMBA are residing here. Most of these population are unaware of oral health issues and oral hygiene measures are even far from their thoughts. Because of this, prevalence of oral health issues are high among them. Attapadi tribal taluk hospital Kottathara, is the main health care facility here run by Govt. of Kerala.On March 2Oth we have conducted an oral health awareness class for the tribal patients and staff of our hospital (Attapadi tribal taluk hospital) for spreading awareness about common oral health issues. On same day and next day we distributed oral health kits containing tooth brush and paste for tribal patients. Along with this we provided dental kits including tooth brush, paste and mouth wash for two palliative care centres at Attapadi.
