Rationale
Ensuring equitable access to oral healthcare remains a critical public health priority, particularly for populations residing in peripheral and semi-urban areas. Satellite dental clinics serve as vital extensions of institutional healthcare systems, bridging the gap between outreach activities and continuous care delivery. In alignment with the global vision of the FDI World Dental Federation and its message “A Happy Mouth is a Happy Life”, this program was designed to provide integrated oral healthcare services at the community level, emphasizing prevention, early detection, and continuity of care.
Objectives
- To improve access to comprehensive oral healthcare services in community settings
- To provide integrated services including screening, education, and basic treatment
- To promote preventive oral health practices and healthy lifestyle behaviours
- To facilitate early diagnosis, timely intervention, and appropriate referrals
- To strengthen the role of satellite clinics in continuous oral healthcare delivery
Target Population
- General patients attending satellite dental clinics
- Residents of surrounding semi-urban and peri-urban communities
- Individuals with limited access to routine dental care

- Systematic oral examinations conducted for all beneficiaries
