Jiangsu Province Elderly Oral Health Promotion Campaign & March 20 'World Oral Health Day' Danyang Station

To further promote oral health knowledge among the elderly, improve their oral health conditions, and create a socially supportive environment for healthy aging, Jiangsu Province held a themed promotional event for its Elderly Oral Health Promotion Campaign in Danyang on March 20, World Oral Health Day.

At the event, Dr. Lei Gang, Associate Chief Physician of the Affiliated Stomatological Hospital of Nanjing Medical University, and Dr. Pan Ruirong, Chief Physician of the Affiliated Hospital of Jiangsu University, delivered popular science lectures titled "Treatment and Care of Common Oral Diseases in Middle-Aged and Elderly Adults" and "Health Education on Common Chronic Diseases," respectively. Using vivid case studies and easy-to-understand language, the two experts explained in detail the common oral diseases among the elderly, their treatments, and daily preventive care. They also discussed the relationship between chronic diseases and oral health, emphasizing the importance of oral health for overall well-being.

Additionally, a free medical consultation was organized at Danyang People’s Hospital, led by a team of experts including:

To enhance the professional skills of local oral health practitioners in Danyang, Dr. Jing Shuanglin and Nurse Chen Yuwei from the Affiliated Stomatological Hospital of Nanjing Medical University conducted a training session on "Rubber Dam Isolation Technique" for 20 local dental practitioners. This technique is crucial in dental treatments as it effectively isolates the operating area, improving both treatment outcomes and patient comfort. Through theoretical instruction and hands-on demonstrations, the trainers helped participants master the key points and practical skills of this technique.
