On the occasion of World Oral Health Day 2025, a special awareness program was conducted at PHC Kalapet on March 25, 2025. The event focused on promoting oral health and hygiene among medical students and raising awareness about the importance of maintaining good oral care practices.
The program included an Oral Health Awareness Talk and Oral Hygiene Instructions tailored for second-year MBBS students from PIIMS College who regularly visit the Dental OPD. The session covered key aspects of oral health, including common dental issues, preventive measures, and the impact of oral health on overall well-being.
A Brushing Techniques Demonstration was also conducted, highlighting proper brushing methods to ensure effective plaque removal and gum health.
Approximately 50 undergraduate (UG) doctors and 2 postgraduate (PG) doctors actively participated in the event and benefited from the insightful sessions. The interactive nature of the program allowed participants to clarify doubts and enhance their understanding of oral care practices.
The event was well-received and contributed to strengthening oral health awareness among future healthcare professionals.
