NOHP Puducherry - Oral health awareness and screening and treatment done for St Mary 's Boys Home students at PHC Villianur

An oral health and tobacco awareness program was conducted at PHC Villianur for the students of St. Mary Boys Home. The session focused on the importance of maintaining good oral hygiene, early detection of dental caries, and preventive measures to ensure better oral health. Students were educated about the harmful effects of tobacco use and the need to adopt healthy lifestyle practices.
A practical demonstration of proper brushing techniques was performed using dental models to help students understand correct oral care methods. Brushing kits and informative pamphlets were distributed to reinforce the messages delivered during the session. Oral screening and necessary treatment were provided to the participants.
Overall, the program benefitted nearly 16 students and 2 staff members. The initiative successfully created awareness about oral health care, prevention of dental diseases, and the importance of regular dental check-ups.
