NOHP Puducherry - Oral Health awareness talk for NCD patients at Rural PHC

On the occasion of World Oral Health Day, an awareness program was conducted at the NCD Clinic, PHC Nettapakkam, focusing on the importance of oral health in relation to general health and overall wellbeing.

Key Activities:
• Awareness Session: Patients were educated on the significance of maintaining good oral hygiene and its impact on overall health.
• Oral Care Guidelines: Dos and don’ts of oral care were explained in detail.
• Brushing Technique: A demonstration on proper brushing technique was conducted using a dental model.
• Tobacco Awareness: The harmful effects of tobacco on oral and general health were emphasized, and the role of the Tobacco Cessation Centre (TCC) was highlighted.
• Oral Health Pledge: Participants took a pledge to maintain good oral hygiene and adopt healthy oral habits.
• Pamphlet Distribution: Informative pamphlets on oral care and hygiene were distributed, along with details for further consultation and referral.

Participation:
Approximately 42 NCD patients actively participated in the session and engaged in the discussions.
