NOHP Puducherry - Training program for social workers in collaboration with NTCP and Government Medical College

Training program for social workers in collaboration with NTCP and Department of Community Medicine, Indira Candhi Medical college & Research Institute, Kathirkamam Puducherry was organised by STCC. NOHP dental units are also functioning as tobacco cessation centres and training of these social workers will benefit the functioning of these TCCs. 

Senior faculties from the medical college had conducted this “Orientation and training programme for social workers on Tobacco cessation counselling methods”. Nearly 45 social workers from the various TCCs across Puducherry had participated in this training. This  workshop was successful and we received positive feed back from the participants. By using structured counselling techniques, social workers can significantly improve tobacco cessation success rates and promote long-term behavioural change.
