Oral health awareness week by Faculty of Dentistry, University of Benghazi, Libya


National oral health awareness week in Libya Is a campaign that is going to be held throughout Libya in collaboration with dental schools from 20th to 27th of March, coinciding with the world oral health day. Our main aim is to educate people and motivates them to take charge of their own oral health by evaluating their oral care and hygiene habits. Towards better oral health in Libya. We believe that everybody deserves a healthy oral cavity. A person’s oral health is a crucial part of their overall wellbeing. Our campaign, targeting some of the most vulnerable members of society; school children, pregnant women and people that have chronic systemic disorder. You have the right to smile Maintaining a healthy smile can be simple but for so many this can be very difficult. Inequalities continue to be a burden for countless individuals. National oral health week is a chance to reach people in the heart of the community, and help them to achieve better oral health. Be proud of your Mouth Good oral health has many benefits, not only for your mouth but your overall wellbeing too. Taking good care of your oral health goes far beyond keeping your teeth and gums healthy. It also improves your quality of life. Key messages for great oral health During National oral health week in Libya, we are promoting three key messages for better oral health: · Brush your teeth for two minutes, last thing at night and at one other time during the day, with fluoride toothpaste. · Cut down on how much sugar you have, and how often you have it. · Visit your dentist regularly, as often as they recommend. The campaign will perform this message through a range of oral health education and promotion activities which will be conducted through out Libya
