World Oral Health Day dedicated to fragile people
On the occasion of World Oral Health Day, the Commission of Dental Hygienists of Foggia has organized a meeting dedicated to frail people, with a particular focus on the needs of those living with disabilities of various kinds. This event will be an opportunity to provide recommendations on how to maintain a healthy oral cavity, addressing the specificities of the various conditions and the difficulties they entail.
Promoting proper oral hygiene, in fact, is not just an aesthetic issue, but is essential for overall systemic health. It is scientifically proven that adequate oral care can prevent a wide range of systemic diseases, such as cardiovascular diseases, diabetes and respiratory infections, which are often related to poor oral hygiene conditions. Therefore, improving oral health becomes a fundamental step for improving general well-being.
Our goal is to raise awareness among patients and their caregivers about the importance of targeted prevention, and to motivate everyone to take care of their body, recognizing the intrinsic beauty of a healthy smile, which is reflected not only in the mouth, but in the entire balance of our being. Dental hygienists will guide participants, with competence and dedication, on a path that enhances the quality of life and health, using appropriate techniques and practical strategies that respond to the specific needs of each individual. In this meeting, we also intend to celebrate the humanity and strength that each person brings with them, revealing how oral health, a care that goes beyond the individual, can be a key to a global improvement of life, a path that unites science with sensitivity.
